Misleading newspaper articles, false reports on the Internet, disinformation campaigns on social media, fake-news attacks on individuals, companies, organizations, governments, and countries pose a serious threat to open societies and democracies.

The possibilities of disinformation and manipulation have multiplied with the Internet in recent years.

We invite you to discuss the questions and challenges below with our experts at the 7th SSF Security Talk:

  • What are fake news and how does society deal with them?
  • What are the possibilities and methods for spreading fake news?
  • What effect can fake news have? What damage do they cause?
  • How can misinformation be fought? How can we protect ourselves against it?
  • Are tech companies doing enough to prevent fake news?
  • Who is responsible for the correctness of information?
  • Do we need stricter national and international regulations and sanctions to stop fake news?
