About the event

Europe is Undergoing a Profound Geopolitical Shift. Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine has shaken Europe’s security architecture and called into question key assumptions of the post-war order. At the same time, global power dynamics are shifting: the rivalry between the United States and China is shaping the international order, while Europe struggles to carve out an independent strategic role. Questions of security, economic dependencies, and political agency are becoming increasingly urgent. Should Europe seek to expand its strategic autonomy, or will it remain dependent on the U.S. for security? What geopolitical challenges and opportunities arise from this turning point in history?

With Herfried Münkler, one of the leading experts on geopolitics, international relations, and strategic studies in the German-speaking world, we have an outstanding analyst of these developments as our guest. His insights into war, power, and the world order provide valuable perspectives on Europe’s current challenges and future prospects.
